Authors: Yan Yan, China |
Abstract: African English literature is the most influential branch of African literature, carrying the history,
culture, and politics of African countries, so the translation research of culture-loaded words in
African English literature is of great practical significance. This paper takes Eco-Translatology
as the theoretical guide to analyzing the strategies and methods adopted by the Chinese translator
of Abdulrazak Gurnah’s By the Sea in the process of adaptation and selection of culture-loaded
words in the three dimensions of language, culture, and communication, with a view to providing
insights for translation studies in African English literature. |
